Out of Hours Service
If you need to speak to a doctor or nurse outside of these hours, health advice is available from Surrey’s NHS 111 service. The service runs from 18:30 on weekdays until 08:00 the following morning and all day during weekends and bank holidays. If you have an urgent medical problem which cannot wait until the surgery re-opens, you can contact NHS 111 by dialling 111 from either your landline or mobile. NHS 111 is free to call from both mobiles and landlines.
The NHS 111 service is staffed by a team of fully trained advisers, supported by experienced nurses and paramedics. They will ask you questions to assess your symptoms, then give you the healthcare advice you need or direct you straight away to the local service that can help you best. That could be A&E, an out-of-hours doctor, an urgent care centre or a walk-in centre, a community nurse, an emergency dentist or a late-opening chemist. Where possible, the NHS 111 team will book you an appointment or transfer you directly to the people you need to speak to.
Always call 999 in a critical or life-threatening situation, for example if someone loses consciousness, is in a confused state, has severe chest pain, breathing difficulties or severe bleeding that can’t be stopped. If you or someone else is having a heart attack or stroke, call 999 immediately – every second counts with these conditions.
You can also get assistance from Livi: www.livi.co.uk.
Appointments Outside of Normal Hours
If you need to see a GP outside of surgery hours, then you can ask our Patient Services Team team and they will make an appointment for you, or you can call the GPHP (More information about the GPHP can be found on their site: www.gphp.co.uk/about-us) appointment line direct on 01372 738373. This line is only available weekdays 18:00 to 21:00 and 09:00 to 13:00 at weekends.
There are a limited number of on-the-day GP appointments each day (weekday evening and weekend mornings) at Leatherhead, Epsom, Nork and/or Tadworth.
The service has appointments:
- Monday – Friday from 18:30 – 21:30
- Saturday from 09:00 – 14:00
- Sunday from 09:00 – 13:00
Appointments can also be booked online by completing our Request an Appointment with a Nurse or Healthcare Assistant form. This is particularly useful where you find it difficult to come to the surgery during our normal opening times.
Remember the Out of Hours Service is for urgent problems only. Please do not contact the service for a second opinion or for anything which can wait until the next working day.
